When I first read the prompt “Colours of Your Personality,” I couldn’t help but smile. Colours have always meant more than just the five primary or secondary ones to me. They have always meant moods, memories, and sometimes even silent conversations with myself.
When someone asks me what colour represents me, I honestly wouldn’t know how to respond. Life, after all, is not lived in just a single colour. Life is a canvas that changes with time, experiences, and emotions.
As I have grown over the years, I have understood that the various colours in life reflect the various sides of my personality in their own ways.
The Calm Blue Within Me
So, if I were to begin anywhere, I would begin with the colour blue.

Blue is the colour of the sky and the ocean when they are at their calmest. Blue is the colour of the side of me that seeks calm, reflection, and meaning in life. The side of me that seeks long walks, silent prayers, and long conversations over cups of chai with people I love.
Calm has become a precious thing in my life at this stage (just a reminder for the new readers – I am in my sixties). I no longer run through life the way I used to when I was younger. I have become more inclined to pause and observe. Blue is the colour of calm for me, and calm is a precious thing in life.
The Warm Yellow of Positivity
And then comes the colour yellow, the colour of warmth and positivity.
While I may not be the most positive person, those who know me well say I have a knack for finding the positive side of everything in life.
Maybe that is the reason I started sharing motivational thoughts online. I genuinely believe that a little ray of encouragement can make a huge difference in someone’s life. Yellow is the ray of sunshine that I carry with me always.
The Strong Red of Determination
Another colour that is a part of my personality is red.
Not the loud, aggressive red, but the quiet strength that continues to propel me forward. Not the loud, aggressive red, but the quiet strength that continues to propel me forward.
As I get older, I have gained a certain softness for life. I no longer feel the need to prove everything. I simply live and am grateful for the small things.
Do Colours Reflect My Moods?
Absolutely!
Some days are blue and thoughtful.
Some days are bright yellow and full of enthusiasm.
Some days are full of red determination when I am focused on a goal.
And many days are peaceful and white.
The only fascinating thing is that all these colours coexist with each other. Just like the different stages of life!
My Life, My Canvas
If someone were to draw a picture of my personality, I am pretty sure it would not be a neatly painted picture of a single colour!
It would be a slightly messy, vibrant picture of life where blue and yellow and red and green blend with each other in perfect harmony, all placed gently against a backdrop of white!
And I must say, I love the picture of life!
For life was never meant to be lived in just one colour!
Life was always meant to be a beautiful blend of many!
What are the colours of your personality? I would love to know!
