Sometimes a film entertains you.
Sometimes it moves you.
And sometimes, it quietly leaves you thinking long after it ends.
Recently, I watched Tanvi The Great, and I must admit, it surprised me in an unexpected way.
These days, I rarely sit through an entire movie. My attention span for films usually lasts around 15–20 minutes before I pause it or drift away to something else. But this time, something different happened. I watched the entire film in one sitting.
That itself says something about the emotional pull of the story.
A Story That Is Simple Yet Powerful
Tanvi The Great tells the story of a young autistic girl who carries a dream that many would consider impossible. But what makes the film special is not just the dream—it is the courage and innocence with which Tanvi pursues it.
The narrative does not rely on heavy drama or exaggerated emotions. Instead, it unfolds gently, allowing viewers to connect with Tanvi’s world and understand her perspective.
As the story progresses, we begin to see not just her struggles but also her determination and quiet strength.
Understanding Autism Beyond Labels
The film also opens an important conversation about Autism Spectrum Disorder.
In our society, autism is often misunderstood. Many people see it only through the lens of limitation, without realising that it is actually a different way of experiencing the world.
Autistic individuals may communicate differently, react differently to situations, or find comfort in routines that others may not understand. But these differences do not reduce their potential.
In fact, many autistic individuals possess remarkable focus, creativity, and unique perspectives.
What they truly need from society is not sympathy but acceptance and patience.
The Journey of Families Behind the Scenes
While watching the film, another thought kept returning to my mind — the families.
Parents raising autistic children often walk a path that demands extraordinary patience and resilience. Every small milestone becomes a victory. Every challenge requires emotional strength.
Their journey is rarely easy, but it is filled with love, determination, and hope.
Films like Tanvi The Great help bring these experiences into public conversation, reminding us that awareness and empathy are just as important as medical understanding.
A Film That Encourages Reflection
What I appreciated most about the movie was its sincerity. It does not try to sensationalise autism or turn it into a dramatic spectacle. Instead, it tells a story that encourages viewers to look beyond stereotypes.
By the end of the film, I realised that the real message is not only about Tanvi’s dream.
It is about how society chooses to respond to people who are different.
Do we judge them?
Do we ignore them?
Or do we try to understand them?
My Final Thoughts
For me, the biggest compliment I can give this film is simple.
In a time when I struggle to sit through most movies, Tanvi The Great kept me engaged till the very end.
More importantly, it reminded me that differences should not be feared or dismissed—they should be understood.
If this film encourages even a few people to learn more about autism and approach it with empathy, then it has already achieved something meaningful.
And perhaps that is where the real greatness lies.
